Keith E. Drake Obit

KEITH E. DRAKE, 85, of Deerwood, died in Benson on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.   He was born to Edward Ray Drake and Ivy Frances (Hyatt) Drake, at their home, on July 15, 1938. He is the sixth of eight children. Most of his growing up years were spent in the Brainerd Lakes area. He graduated in 1956 from Brainerd High School. In 1959, he married Diana Kay Holp and together raised four children. Through their 60 years of marriage they traveled, worshipped the Lord and drank many cups of coffee. When he was the Sunday School Superintendent, she was the Young Adults Leader – they made quite a pair. He was devoted to God and an avid reader and Twins baseball game watcher. He was a collector of random facts and bad jokes, endlessly funny and wise. In high school he was voted “Handsomest Boy” which rang true through most of his years. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, his sisters, Fran (Jim) Muller and Doris Marshall, his brothers, C. Robert (Lois), Shannon (Ione), David, and son-in-law John Gill. He is survived by his sons Edward Drake, Mitchell (Christina) Drake, Sheldon (Stacy) Drake and daughter Temple Gill; his sisters Betty (Wayne) Wolhart and Diane (Jeff) Vogt and his sister-in-law Lorie Drake and six grandchildren. Although 85 years wasn’t enough time, we are happy he is now spending time in the presence of his Lord and Savior and his family who have gone on before. Memorial Services have been held.
