Georgia Marie Laffin Obit

GEORGIA MARIE LAFFIN, 80, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Care Center with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 15, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, AL to Mathew and Mildred Inman. She married Joseph Bokry July 22, 1959. She and Joseph had four children: Tina, Carla, Tammy and Joseph. She worked many jobs and her main love was being a seamstress making several of her children’s clothes. She loved to sew! Her husband Joseph passed away on March 23, 1980 in Youngstown, OH. After Joseph’s passing Georgia met and married Charles John Laffin on Nov. 12, 1988 in Crosby. She and Charles had a passion to see the country and drove a semi-truck for several years together, winning many awards as a driver team for several trucking companies in the Twin Cities area. She will be remembered for her fiesty spirit that stayed with her ‘til the end. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Joseph; sisters Marcel, Charlotte and Shirley; brothers Tim and Hiram and a grandson. She is survived by her spouse Charles, her children and spouses Tina Gardner, Carla and Chris Carlson, Tammy and Kevin Hines, Clarence Laffin and Joseph Bokry, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: brothers William and George and sisters Carol, Dorothy, Barbara, Tammy and Elizabeth. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Ironton American Legion from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
