Marlene Walters Obit
MARLENE WALTERS, 87, of Brainerd, died in her sleep on July 25, 2024. She was born on Dec. 1, 1936, to Bill and Eleanor Kimbler in Crosby. She married Gerald Walters on June 29, 1957 and celebrated 67 years together. How do you sum up a wonderful life of 87 years? Maybe she didn’t do it all, but she did a whole lot. She was a wonderful wife, fantastic mother, terrific grandmother and great friend to many. For a job, she was a teacher. But what defined her was her love of family, friends and faith. She loved Jesus. She did not preach at you, she just lived God’s love and you knew her faith. She enjoyed traveling across North America (Disney 15 times), snowmobiling, motorcycling, reading and playing almost any kind of game. She even went skydiving at 78. She was not blessed with wealth but much more importantly a life filled with love. She is preceded in death by her parents; two siblings and infant child, Gregory. She is survived by her husband Jerry; children and spouses, Craig and Andrea Walters, Mark and Lois Walters, Gary and Lisa Walters; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and four siblings. Celebration of Life will be held at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter on Friday, Aug. 2 from 2:30 to 5 p.m. with a short service at 3:30 p.m.
