Pearl Jane Elmer Obit

PEARL JANE ELMER, 96, of Deerwood, passed away on Jan.1, 2025 at her home.  She was born on April 23, 1928 in Crosby to Walter and Lucille (Linn) Waffensmith.   Pearl was a life-long member of United Methodist Church in Deerwood; served as Treasurer for the City of Deerwood and was an Election Judge for the City of Deerwood; was a former President of Deerwood Housing and was a former Secretary for Farmer's Township Mutual Insurance in Deerwood; Past President of Deerwood Legion Auxiliary and cookie baker and grandma for the C-I cross country and track teams 1990-2004. Pearl is survived by two daughters, Gwen (Dan) Humphreys of Ham Lake and Linda Anderson of Crosby; two sons, Paul (Julie) Anderson of Deerwood and Mark Anderson of Ham Lake; nine grandchildren, Sean (Sue) Humphreys, Troy (Clare) Humphreys, Lucy (Chad) Coley, Laura Paulson, Sam (Erika) Anderson, Stephanie (Ben) Thompson, Andy (Jamie) Anderson, Katie (Tim) Borden, and Nicole (Justin) Gunderson; and 23 great-grandchildren. Preceding Pearl in death are her husbands, Lawrence “Andy” Anderson and Ed Elmer; three brothers, Rusty, Arnold and Clayton Waffensmith and one sister, Ethel Gross. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be at the Scandia Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
