Tamara Lynn (Houde) Mack Obit

TAARA LYNN (HOUDE) MACK passed quietly and peacefully knowing her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, July 16, 2025. She was born on Aug. 16, 1968, to Lynda Olander Houde and Gary Houde. She attended Crosby Elementary, Whittier Elementary and Franklin Jr High before graduating from Brainerd High School. In June 1986. She then attended Central Lakes Collage before enlisting in the US Navy, Sept. 11, 1987 and served four years as a Jet Mechanic where she unfortunately was brain injured, however completed her tour and was Honorably discharged Sept. 10, 1991. She met the love of her life Michael J. Mack while serving in Norfolk VA. They were married Nov. 21, 1992. They made their home in Norfolk and were blessed by the births of four children, Nigel X. Mack 3/16/1991, Michael J. Mack, Jr. 12/19/1993, Phillip Nathaniel Mack 6/12/1995 and Jessica Ann-Marie Mack 5/25/1997. In her youth Tamara was a bright, cheerful and loved by all who knew her. Tamara never brought stray puppies and cats home, but she befriended her lost and lonely classmates. She was loving and caring and did what she could to brighten the lives of all around her. Tamera had a dream to become an attorney however the US Navy caught her eye, and she changed her career path. She worked in food service, and computer data entry prior to her enlistment, following her discharge she worked parttime as a store clerk, but primary occupation was wife and mother. No child was ever loved more by their mother than the four children of Tamara. Unfortunately, her service-connected injury brought her to Minnesota for medical care. She lived with her mother and step-father until she moved to Life Support Services Adult Foster Care until moving to Fergus Falls Veterans Home where she passed peacefully with family and caring staff around her July 16, 2025. Tamara was loved greatly by her caregivers in adult foster care and later the FF Vets Home as well as the other residents. She was seen as a bright light in their lives with a radiant smile that was infectious. She will be greatly missed. Tamara is survived by her husband Michael J. Mack, her mother, Lynda J Converse and step-father Clinton F Converse; father, Gary T Houde, step-mother Cheryl; one brother, Troy T. Houde and her four children Nigel X. Mack, Tia Mack, Michael J. Mack Jr, Phillip Mack, and Jessica Mack Foster, seven Grand-children, Grace Tamara Mack, Nigel Xavier Mack II, Reign Victoria Mack, Jireh Noelle Mack, Wesli Deanni Mack, Hayden Mack Harris and Lane Marie Foster; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Vivie Hospice Fergus Falls and Paralyzed Veterans of America. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at Faith Lutheran Church in Staples with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples.
