David Anderson Harris Obit

DAVID ANDERSON HARRIS, of Deerwood, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026 at the age of 91. He was born on Sept. 27, 1934 in Brainerd to Beulah Elsie (Spracklin) Harris and Elmer Ernest Harris. He had two brothers, Darryl and Dana, and two sisters, Dahrys "Birdie" Nolan, Gailraye Harris. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War in Okinawa. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, snowmobiling, gardening and working long days. He ran a construction business and a hobby farm. He will be remembered for his many unique figures of speech, sense of humor, always having a big smile, and being strong-willed (some might say stubborn). He loved hunting for agates, a hobby he passed along to every generation of the family. He is preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings. He is survived by his wife Donna (Gerberding) Harris, five children: Laurie (Steve) Peterson, Melody Harris, Brent (Connie) Gerberding, Brad (Monica) Gerberding, and Jody (Gerberding) Kramer, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Deerwood American Legion.
