Donald Wade Carlson Obit

DONALD "DON" WADE CARLSON, 76, of Hibbing, formerly of Ironton passed away on Aug. 28, 2026 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born Dec. 20, 1949, in Grand Rapids to Gerald and Kathryn (Holmes) Carlson. He graduated from Pequot Lakes High School, class of 1968, and went on to serve in the Army from 1973 to 1979. Afterwards he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was united in marriage to Theanna Theien on July 11, 1970, in Pequot Lakes. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Kathryn Carlson; and his sisters, Kay and Carol. He is survived by his wife, Theanna; daughter, Janelle Carlson; sons, Craig (Peggy) Carlson, and Kenneth Carlson; grandchildren: Mitchell, Joshua, and Katie D'Ambrogio, and Rhiannon and Jacob Carlson; along with four bonus grandchildren and four bonus great-grandchildren A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Oct.  2 for family only  at 1 p.m. at the former Range Funeral Home in Hibbing (3702 Second Avenue W, Hibbing). Military Honors is to follow the Celebration of Life service.
