As the Fifty Lakes Bar and Bottle Shop navigates and monitors the COVID-19, it is reaching out to offer reassurance in the commitment to customers’ health and safety. It will cancel the Monday night Meat Raffle until further notice.

 

 

ECTC, Crosslake Communications provide internet for school students

Emily Cooperative Telephone Company and Crosslake Communications will be providing free internet service to families that currently do not have services for student online learning. Families living in the ECTC or Crosslake Communications service area will have access to internet services free of charge for two months. Families can contact our business offices below to schedule an installation.

Ironton Legion offers hot lunches for children

While the Crosby-Ironton schools are closed due to the Coronavirus, the Ironton American Legion is offering daily hot meals to children in grades kindergarten through grade twelve at no charge. The same meals are being offered for pick up to the general public at $6 per meal.
Meals will be available Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu consists of:
—Monday: Spaghetti with garlic toast
—Tuesday: Tator Tot Hotdish
—Wednesday: Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy
—Thursday: Sloppy Joe with either potato salad or potato chips

City of Crosby suspendsa ll non-essential services

At a Special Meeting of the Crosby City Council on Monday morning, March 16, the council voted to suspend all non-essential services.
City Administrator Lisa Sova said in a notice to the public: “In an effort to protect the public, limit exposure and prevent the spread of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Crosby Council has made the decision to suspend all city services with the exception of essential public safety services beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

ATVAM Region 3 Annual Meeting postponed

Crow Wing County Sheriff’s office closed to public

Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard announces that the Sheriff’s main office and jail lobby areas will be closed to the public through March 31.
Sheriff Goddard stated, "...we will continue to serve our community with our focus on keeping our personnel safe and healthy so we can respond to calls for help in our community. Closing our front lobby and jail will help limit the personal contact that we have with our public. We are looking for any and all ways we can limit our exposure while remaining ready to respond to help our people.

Ironton city offices closed temporarily

The City of Ironton has announced effective immediately city offices will be open regular hours but the public will not be allowed into the building.

Payments may be made in the drop box located on the exterior of the city hall or online.

 

How to make hand sanitizer

You can make hand sanitizer at home with these three ingredients:
—2/3 cup 99 percent rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) or ethanol. (Hydrogen peroxide may be substituted).
—1/3 cup aloe vera gel
—8 to 10 drops essential oil (such as lavender, vanilla, peppermint, grapefuit) optional
Directions: Mix the ingredients in a bowl and stir with a spoon. Use a funnel to pour liquid into an empty bottle.
