CLEMENT JOSEPH RODEN, 69, of Crosby, passed away on Feb. 8, 2025 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A Service being planned for May.  Correspondence with Lisa (521 Erie Avenue, Crosby MN 56441. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

SHARON KAY LINDBERG, 63, of Aitkin, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at her residence.  She was born Aug. 13, 1961 in Omaha, NE, the daughter of Earl and Betty (Chin) Fairchild.  She grew up in Aitkin and graduated from Aitkin High School in 1979, she then earned her Associates Degree.  Sharon was united in marriage to Kevin Wayne Lindberg on Jan. 22, 1983 at the United Methodist Church in Aitkin.  She was employed at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin for 20 years.  She loved summertime and gardening.  Her family and grandchildren were her life.

THERESA LUCILLE FRANZ,  66, of Brainerd, died on Feb. 7, 2025 at Bethany Good Samaritan in Brainerd.  She was born in Aitkin on Oct. 24, 1958 to John and Loretta (Zigan) Franz.   Preceding her in death are her parents and three brothers, John, Conrad and Allan Franz. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Julie Franz of Pillager; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary Barnes of Brainerd, Nancy and Terry Morgan of Aitkin, Audrey and Dennis   Schumacher of Arden Hills and Elizabeth Lyons of Grand Rapids and numerous nieces and nephews.

SCOTT PAKARINEN, 72, of Brainerd, passed away Feb. 2, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Dixie and his children; son, Seth (Becky) Pakarinen, daughters, Sara (Darren) Rector, Diane (Sean) Bird and Christine (David) Montague; grandchildren, Nathan Welliver, Ashley, Alyssa, Jordan, Scotty, Hannah, and Brody; brothers, David and Rodney (KC) Pakarinen; his sister, Amanda and great-grandkids. He is preceded in death by his parents Olavi and Charlene Pakarinen; and daughter Kimberly Welliver– Brown. Scott enjoyed gardening, fishing, woodworking and being with his pups, Hunter and Pedro.

JOHN VICTOR BYMARK of Hibbing died Jan. 30, 2025 at the age of 95. John was born in Biwabik to Alice (Lindgren) and C. Victor Bymark on March 24th, 1929. He spent his youth in Biwabik and graduated from Biwabik High School in 1947. During his youth he enjoyed spending summers at the family cabin in Marine on St. Croix along with his sisters Harriet and Janet and a number of cousins. He initially attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and then was drafted into the Army and served his country overseas during the Korean War.

CHARLES WILLIAM JACKSON, 81, formerly of Brainerd, passed away to be with Jesus on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at Grand Arbor Assisted Living in Alexandria. Jackson was born on Feb. 25, 1943 in Hibbing. They lived in Kerr Location (a mining community two miles out of Hibbing) for 10 years and then they moved into Hibbing for two years.  When he was in 7th grade the family moved to Crosby and he graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1961. He was working at a shoe repair shop in Crosby between his junior and senior year.

Larry Thoms went home to be with His Lord and Savior on Jan. 5, 2025. Nancy Thoms joined her husband when she passed on Jan. 8, 2025. Larry John Thoms was born on Sept. 13, 1945, in Brainerd to Lester and Amy (Atwood) Thoms. Nancy Kay (Harnois) Thoms was born on April 29, 1946, in Ashland, WI to Harold and Dorothy (Williamson) Harnois. Larry and Nancy were married on June 13, 1964, and shared over 60 years of marriage, rarely spending time apart. In 1969, they purchased Grays Millworks at Bay Lake, which later became known as Timber Building Supply and Ace Hardware.

GEORGE EDWIN HARDY, 78, of Crosby, passed away at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center on Jan. 29, 2025. He was born on March 3, 1946 in Brainerd to Lyman and Dora (Wilmot) Hardy.   Hardy served in the U.S. Navy for four years with two deployments to Vietnam.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 in Ironton.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his sister, Judy McKanna of Crosby and his significant other, Paula Kowalke of Crosby and several nieces and nephews.

WANDA FLETCHER, 85 of Emily, journeyed from this life on Jan. 17, 2025, surrounded by family and love. Her last wish was "Let's hold hands," and we did .... "we'll hold hands again one day." Wanda was born on July 25, 1939. She was the first of four daughters born to Milton "Bud" and Elaine (Gates) Strause. Wanda spent her childhood in Wyoming, CO and Minnesota and graduated from Aitkin High School. Wanda met her future husband, Gilbert "Gus" Fletcher at a 4-H dance in Little Pine Township.

CYNTHIA "CINDY" MAILE, 67, of Brainerd, passed away on Jan. 22, 2025 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.   A service is being planned for a later date.  Full obit will follow.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.
