REV. NORDEAN "DEAN" STOLZ, 83, of Deerwood, passed away on March 18, 2024 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A Memorial Service is being planned for Saturday, April 13, 2024. Full obit will follow.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

Steven Gary Crist Obit

STEVEN GARY CRIST, 67, of Ironton, passed away on March 16, 2024.  He was born on June 13, 1956 in St. Paul to Chester and Marion (Mullikin) Crist.  For many years Steven owned and operated Steve’s Painting in Ironton. Preceding Steven in death are his parents and two sons, Shawn Crist and Jeremy Crist.

Nancy Beth Schmidt Obit

NANCY BETH SCHMIDT, 81, of Deerwood, formerly from Crystal, passed away Feb. 13, 2024 at Heartwood Memory Care in Crosby.   She was the daughter of Clifford and Vivian (Gunderson) James, born on May 5, 1942 in Roseau. She graduated from North High School in Minneapolis in 1960. On March 25, 1961 she was united in marriage to Gordon Schmidt. They lived in Crystal where she worked at Lifetouch, formerly National School Studios, as a picture packager for 31 years until she retired. They moved to Serpent Lake in 2000 and spent their winters in Gold Canyon, AZ.

Susan "Suzie" Rochon Obit

SUSAN "SUZIE" ROCHON, 90, died on February 24, 2024 at United Hospital in St. Paul, with her youngest daughter, Carmi beside her. She was born June 18, 1933 to Harry and Marie (Rausch) Rochon in Crosby. She attended Crosby-Ironton HS through the eleventh grade and went on to graduate from Marshall HS in Minneapolis. She married Rodney L. Bleifuss on Sept. 23, 1950 at St Joseph’s Church in Crosby. They raised four children in the Twin Cities area.   They spent summers camping in the West, or spent time in the cabin they built on Rogers Lake.

KYLE LUVERNE GRANGRUTH, 56, of Brainerd, died on March 6, 2024 at Rem Central Lakes in Brainerd.   He was born in Brainerd on April 26, 1967 to Maynard and Mildred (Cooley) Grangruth. Preceding him in death are his mother, Mildred Grangruth and one brother, DelRoy Grangruth. He is survived by his father, Maynard Grangruth of Deerwood and one sister, Marilynn Wilson of Rodeo, CA. A private family service was held.   Arrangements were with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

Steven "Choik" John Perpich Obit

STEVEN "CHOIK" JOHN PERPICH, 72, of Crosby, died on March 9, 2024 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  He was born in Crosby on Feb. 9, 1952 to John and Betty (Johnson) Perpich.  He married Connie DeCent on Feb. 27, 1982 in Crosby.   He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the city of Crosby with 29 years of service.  He served as a Crosby fireman for 25 years. He was also a former Burlington Northern Railroad employee with 13 years of service.  He was an avid sportsman and loved spending time with family.

Sally Lukens Mann Obit

SALLY LUKEN S MANN March 26, 1930 to  March 10, 2024 Sally was born to Ruth (Heald) and Paul Lukens in Hibbing. She graduated from Hibbing High School and then attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA. While taking off a semester in her junior year, she met Richard (Dick) Mann at church in Hibbing. They were engaged in six  weeks and married in six months. They lived where Dick's mining engineering career took them: Crosby, Hibbing and Cleveland, OH. After Dick retired in 1983, they moved back to Minnesota and built a home on Rabbit Lake (near Crosby).
