KATHY SVEE, 78, formerly of Two Harbors, passed away peacefully in Crosby on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Kathy was born Sept. 19, 1943, to Anton and Nancy (Holm) Olson in Two Harbors. She graduated from Two Harbors High School in 1961 and was crowned Miss Two Harbors in 1962. She was a stay-at-home mom to her two daughters and later worked as a bookkeeper at Svee Distributing, Lakeview Memorial Hospital, LaBounty Manufacturing, and the Sunrise Home. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed her Swedish time with GOTA LEJON No. 251 Vasa Lodge.

MARGARET "PEGGY" KATHLEEN O'NEIL PALM, of Baxter, passed away peacefully at Essentia St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd, surrounded by her family on March 19, 2022.  She was born on April 27, 1944 to Percy and Myrtle (Reem) O’Neil in Brainerd.  She graduated from the Aitkin Senior High in 1962.  She was always a proud Aitkin Gobbler.  She attended Brainerd Community College for Criminal Justice, received a certificate of participation from Global School of Investigation of Massachusetts and attended Brainerd Vocational for writing.

JOSEPH A. THIEBAULT, JR., 81, of Crosby, died on March 16, 2022 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  He was born in Minneapolis on June 16,1940 to Joseph and Kathryn (McKowen) Thiebault. He married Loreli “Babe” Blacketer on Sept. 1, 1959 in Minneapolis.  He was retired from the State of Minnesota with 20 years of service.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, was the president of the Sons of the American Legion, Ironton and served on the Myrin-James American Legion Color Guard Unit #443, Ironton.

KEVIN ALAN CHRISTENSEN, 66, of Deerwood died on March 13, 2022.  He was born in Crosby on Sept. 28, 1955 to William and Marilyn (Beddow) Christensen.  Kevin graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1974.  He was a member of the Boiler Makers Union Local 247 in Anoka. Preceding Kevin in death are his parents; sisters, Cheryl Weimer and Kelly Seavey and brother Carl Seavey. Kevin is survived by two daughters, Monica (Tim) McDonald of St. Cloud and Candace (Lucas Dvorak) Christensen of Deerwood; one brother, Joe (Julie) Seavey, Jr.

FLORENCE LEONA SNOOK, 94, of Crosby, died on March 8, 2022 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  She was born in Mountain Lake on Feb. 17, 1928 to Eilert and Gerdena (Siefkes) Strenge.  Florence married Donald Ray Snook on April 3, 1950 in Mountain Lake. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby.

Timothy "Tim" Robert Anderson Obit

TIMOTHY "TIM" ROBERT ANDERSON, 58, of Aitkin, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 with his family by his side.  He was born May 24, 1963 in Minneapolis to Luverne “Vern” and Elizabeth “Betty” Anderson.  Tim grew up in Burnsville until his junior year in high school when his family moved back to Aitkin where his dad grew up.  He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1981 and attended Brainerd Vo-Tech where he graduated with a two-year accounting degree. Tim lived for a time in Minneapolis and Las Vegas before moving back to Aitkin.

HAZEL ZAUHAR, 99+, of Ironton, a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022.  She was born on May 16, 1922, to Hans and Olive Olsen.  Hazel graduated from the Brainerd High School in 1940 and married Emil Zauhar, the love of her life, on Oct. 20, 1945, in Edina.  Their love and dedication to each other was truly a life lesson. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby and the Myrin-James American Legion Auxiliary Unit #443 of Ironton, serving as secretary for many years.

CHARLES CAREY LANE,  77, of Ironton, formerly of Wichita Falls, TX died at the St. Cloud Hospital on Feb. 25, 2022. He was born on Dec. 13, 1944 in Pampa, TX to Chester and Gayle (Carey) Lane.  He was a Vietnam Army veteran and a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton.  He  married Kathleen Marie Bergsnev on June 18, 1988 in Greenbush.   For 25 years he was a Psychiatric Social Worker in Wichita Falls, TX.

Lauren "Wally" "Swede" Johnson Obit

LAUREN JOHNSON, also known as “Wally,” or “Swede,” passed away at 80 years of age from natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 in a Duluth hospital. He spent the last 20 years of his life as a resident of Lake Washburn near Outing. A Minnesotan, through and through, Lauren was born in Minneapolis  in 1941. He went from Southwest High School to the U.S. Navy. He spent the majority of his working life as a produce broker for places like American Produce and Pavich Family Farms. Over the years, he lived in various places in Minnesota and California.
