March is Food Shelf Month

Every March the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf solicits funds to purchase food to fill our food shelves. The March Campaign is the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf’s largest cash and food drive. Each month the Cuyuna Range Food Shelf serves an average of 90 households and distributes over 8,500 pounds of food. The Cuyuna Range Food Shelf, located at 302 Cross Avenue, Crosby, has been in existence over 35 years serving the Cuyuna Range area. The mailing address is P.O. Box 33, Crosby, MN 56441. CHARLES CAREY LANE,  77, of Ironton, formerly of Wichita Falls, TX died at the St. Cloud Hospital on Feb. 25, 2022. He was born on Dec. 13, 1944 in Pampa, TX to Chester and Gayle (Carey) Lane.  He was a Vietnam Army veteran and a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443, Ironton.  He  married Kathleen Marie Bergsnev on June 18, 1988 in Greenbush.   For 25 years he was a Psychiatric Social Worker in Wichita Falls, TX.

Lauren "Wally" "Swede" Johnson Obit

LAUREN JOHNSON, also known as “Wally,” or “Swede,” passed away at 80 years of age from natural causes on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021 in a Duluth hospital. He spent the last 20 years of his life as a resident of Lake Washburn near Outing. A Minnesotan, through and through, Lauren was born in Minneapolis  in 1941. He went from Southwest High School to the U.S. Navy. He spent the majority of his working life as a produce broker for places like American Produce and Pavich Family Farms. Over the years, he lived in various places in Minnesota and California.

Gregory Leonard Moe Obit

GREGORY LEONARD MOE, 64, died on Feb. 21, 2022 at his home.  He was born on Dec. 12, 1957 in St. Paul to Hjalmar and Ruby (Smith) Moe.  Greg married Susan Tabor on Nov. 17, 1984 in St. Paul.   He is preceded in death by his parents. Greg is survived by his wife Susan; two sons, Nathan (Rosanna) Moe and Dan (Jami) Moe; two daughters, Carrie (Eric) Menne and Natalie (James) Redmond; five grandchildren, Brandon Menne, Belle Menne, Brooke Menne, Kloie Hellerman and Lily Moe; one brother, Doug Moe; and two sisters, Jeannie (Tony) Elizondo and Marilyn (Mike) Flodine.

GREGORY ALLAN ROSIER, 78, of McGregor, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2022 at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born Feb. 13, 1944 in Crosby to Frederick and Gertrude (Hudson) Rosier.  He graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1962.  He attended Brainerd Community College and earned a degree in Metallurgy.  Gregory was united in marriage to Eleanor Mae Ekman on Aug. 13, 1966 in St. Paul.
