ELOISE JEANETTE BIERMAN, 85, of Cuyuna, passed away on June 22, 2026 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.   Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls on Monday at noon.

LOIS ANN TAYLOR, 87, of Deerwood, passed away on June 23, 2026 at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born Aug. 10, 1938 in Crosby to Walter and Delcie (Butler) Gross.   She was united in marriage to Frank “Bob” Robert Taylor on March 11, 1956. Together with her husband they owned and operated the Western Auto in Crosby.  She was a retired employee of Crosby Manufacturing with 22 years of service.  She enjoyed the local bowling leagues and card clubs, as well as doing needle work such as embroidery, knitting and crocheting.

GERALDINE "GERRY" MARGIE (PEDERSON) ALTONEN, passed away peacefully at Heartwood Care Center June 16, 2026. Geraldine was born in Crosby, June 20, 1939, to Marjorie Pederson (Shannon) Oscar Pederson who were from Ironton. Geraldine was a graduate of the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1957. She met Wayne ”Tez” Altonen in 1956 at school, they were inseparable. They soon married on May 21,1960, in Crosby. They moved to South Minneapolis where they loved and raised five children.

EVERETT COMLEY HENRICKSON, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, at the age of 93. Everett was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, and true friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a resolute member of his community and a pillar of strength for his family. His memory will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

RUTH JoANN QUADE, 90, of Crosby, passed away on June 17, 2026, at the Heartwood Care Center in Crosby. She was born in Minneota on Dec. 19, 1935 to Edward and Amy (Salfisberg) Kormann. She was united in marriage to Robert Quade on June 15, 1957 in Truman. She was a retired LPN with 40 years of service.  Her employment includes: Miller Hospital in St. Paul; Watonwan County Memorial in St. James; Burlington Nursing Home in Burlington, CO; Truman Nursing Home in Truman and the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby.

RAYMOND LEE ELLIS passed away April 29, 2026. He was born Sept. 5, 1986 in Crosby to Jerry Ellis and Teresa (Andrews) Ellis. He is survived by his significant other Thressie Sadler, his parents, one son Karson Ellis, one daughter Aurora Ellis, three sisters Jessica Yarborough, Christa Andrews and Jeanne Ellis; Grandmother Jeanette Horsman, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Charles Andrews, Ted Ellis and Lorraine Bergsing and one uncle Stephen Andrews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27 from 2 to 6 p.m.

Celebrate the Fourth of July in Crosby!

Parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. in front of the Ironton American Legion Saturday, July 4. Parade will begin at 11 a.m. and travel eastbound along Highway 210 through town ending near Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. Vendors will be in Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake with the Fire department’s beer garden opening at 11 a.m. Following the parade in the park enjoy live music by “Zander” from 1 to 4 p.m. and the “Samuel John Band” from 5 to 8 p.m. in the John H. Pribyl Pavilion. The entertainment ends with the fantastic fireworks over Serpent at dusk.
