WARD 'DART' LEONARD PARKS, of Crosby, died on Oct. 11, 2022 in Crosby on his 77th birthday.  He was born in Brainerd to Leonard and Laverna (Ford) Parks.  Dart graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1964.  Dart’s education continued at the Staples Vo-tech.  He was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer for 42 years, employed by the United Defense in Moundsview before he retired in 2008.  Dart married Dianne Gates Kimbler on July 18, 1981.  Together, they raised their family in Moundsview. After retiring, Dart and Dianne decided they wanted to return to Crosby.

LAURENE ALICE CHAPMAN, 103, of Crosby, formerly of Outing, died on Oct. 13, 2022, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz. She was born in Delhi on June 19, 1919 to Carl and Ida Swenson. She married Robert Chapman on June 16, 1939 in Fairfax.  She was a member of the Emily United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” in 2012; one brother Robert Swenson and one sister, Edith Rowan.

BARBARA KAYE LARSON (CRAVEN),  77, of Minnetonka died on Aug. 5, 2022 after a brief, but fierce battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Todd Craven, Sr. and her parents Arago and Lucille Larson. She is survived by her beloved family, Anastasia (Tim) Benz. Kelly (Steve) Stattman, Geoffrey Todd (Sue) Craven Jr.

ROBERT 'BOB' EUGENE RADKE, 76, of Crosby, died on Sept. 30, 2022 at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He was born on Jan. 11, 1946 in St. Paul to George and Marie (Conroy) Radke. He married Junko Shindo on Dec. 22, 1975 in Tokyo, Japan. He was retired Master Chief Petty Officer with the U.S. Navy with 30 years of service.  He was a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post #443 in Ironton. He is survived by his wife Junko; two sons, Robert Radke Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and Michael Radke of Crosby; two sisters, Debbie (Patsy) Garfola of St.

COLLEEN JoANNE GARLINGHOUSE, 57, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2022 at Aitkin Health Services.  Colleen was born on March 21, 1965 to Robert and Agnes (Oakland) Garlinghouse of Aitkin. She attended Aitkin Public Schools and later transferred to Brainerd Public Schools where she graduated from Special Education in 1986.  After her father passed away in 1984, Colleen remained with her mother in rural Aitkin and later moved to Deerwood.  She entered the group home system in 1999, first in a family home setting, then to N and J Homes (formerly L J Homes), in Brainerd.

LINDA LOU DOOYEMA, 72, of Magnolia, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022, at her home. She was born Jan. 8, 1950, in Adrian, to Clarence and Arlene (Bullerman) Von Holtum. Linda married Lorne “Steve” Dooyema on Sept. 12, 1970, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. The couple lived in various communities in the midwest, including, Marshall, La Crosse, WI, Waukegan, IL, and White Bear Lake before moving to Deerwood. They owned and operated a motel in Deerwood. In 1998, they purchased Aanenson family farm near Magnolia. She was a very active member of several organizations and charity’s.

ANNE LYNN (HASSKAMP) SAMBAR, 73, of New Berlin, WI passed away on Sept. 15, 2022 after a short battle with cancer at Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield, WI. Anne was born on Sept. 22, 1948, in Brainerd, to the late Robert and Donna (Denis) Hasskamp. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School in 1967. After high school she enrolled in an LPN program in Brainerd before applying for a flight attendant position with North Central Airlines at the urging of her sister, Mary Kay.
