SHAUNA LEEANN NYBERG  passed away on Oct. 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. A service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1 p.m. at the Ironton American Legion  located at 232 Fourth Street in Ironton. Lunch will follow.

STEPHEN RABA, 70, of St. Paul, died Oct. 24, 2022 at his home. Steve spent the past 30 years owning and operating a small lawn care business in the St. Paul area with his son, Ben. He had a very artistic and mechanical minded and possessed many talents and interests such as woodworking, leather working, farming, and fixing all types of machinery. He was an avid gun and knife collector and he was passionate about politics, history, classic movies, vintage cars and music.

WILLIAM A. GREER, 61, of Crosby, died at his home on Nov. 4, 2022.  He was born on March 8, 1961 in Minneapolis.  He graduated from the Northland-Remer High School, class of 1979.  He was a U.S. Army veteran He married Melissa Widboom on Sept. 4, 1993 in Spencer, IA. Preceding him in death are his parents; one sister, Elizabeth Greer and one granddaughter, Emry Stimpel. He is survived by his wife, Melissa; sons, Jason Greer of Hill City and Christopher Gatrost of Minnesota Lake; daughter, Katie (Brandon) Stimpel of Brooklyn Park and five grandchildren. No services are being held.

JOAN MILLER, 79, of Brainerd, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Oct. 29, 2022.  She was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Bremerton, WA to Charlie and Yvonne Mitchell. She spent her childhood living between Minnesota and Montana as her parents couldn’t agree on which state was better.  She married Loren Miller on Feb. 9, 1963. They spent their life together raising their three children in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Joan loved all animals and rescued several over the years.

JAMES WILLARD HOLMAN, 84, of Ironton, died on Nov. 5, 2022 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and later dementia. He was born in Milbank, SD on March 2, 1938.  He lived with his grandparents in Big Stone, SD until he moved to Minneapolis with his mother and step-father when he was six years old.  He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis, class of 1957.  He married Bettie Roggenbuck on Oct. 3, 1959 in Big Stone, SD.  Together they made their home in Minneapolis where they raised their family.

JOHN B. JOHNSON, 82, of Crosby, died at his home on Oct. 20, 2022.  A service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Darlene Hlidek, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all those whose lives she touched. Darlene died unexpectedly at home on Oct. 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick and sister Peggy. Born in Chicago on June 3, 1938, Darlene was an avid gardener, antique collector, and educator. Darlene had an adventurous spirit and was always up for a challenge. She loved to travel, ran tours to the Czech Republic, explored the Boundary Waters and drove to Alaska (Twice).

JOAN MARY RASMUSSEN, 83, of Crosby, died on Oct. 24, 2022 at Aitkin Health Services.  She was born on July 5, 1939 in Ada to William and Frances (Kappes) Braunschweig.  She married Duane Rasmussen on July 25, 1959 in Ada.   Preceding her in death are her parents; her brother, Dennis Braunschweig and her sister, Nancy Hawks; grandchildren, Dalton Rasmussen, Allysun Rasmussen, Melissa and Nastassia, Tatianna Rasmussen and Jeremy Rasmussen.

Coleen Lee Raymond Obit

COLEEN LEE RAYMOND,  80, of Deerwood, died on Oct. 27, 2022 at the Riverwood Healthcare Center in Aitkin.  She was born in Crosby on July 21, 1942 to Wesley “Dale” and Irene (Keeler) McCoy. She graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1961 and then graduated from the St. Cloud Beauty School. She married Rodney Raymond on Aug. 3, 1963 in Deerwood.  She was a Title One teacher at the Washington Elementary School in New Ulm, retiring back to the Crosby area in 1998. Preceding her in death are her parents; two sons, Von and Kevin Raymond; and one brother Keith McCoy.
