DELMER 'DICK' GUNTER, SR., 83 of Crosby died Feb. 2, 2022 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. He was born Dec. 13, 1939 in Litchfield to Caroline and Delmer Gunter. He married Elna “Bunny” on Aug. 30, 1958 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield. He is a member of the Army National Guard, worked in St. Paul and Hopkins before owning and operating the Bodega Pizza in Crosby. He is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Cuyuna Range Youth Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elna; his parents, Caroline and Delmer; and two brothers, Jesse and Thomas.

HELENANN WRIGHT HYYTINEN, 85, Lacey, WA and Tucson, AZ, died July 7, 2022 at St. Pete's Hospital in Olympia, WA, due to complications leading to cardiac arrest. She worked at Anoka Senior High School in the Anoka-Hennepin School District then was a long-time employee of Olympic Jr. High School in the Auburn School District in Washington State; retiring in 1998. Helenann was born Sept. 2, 1936 in Brainerd to Kenneth and Verla (Pribyl) Wright.   She is survived by her husband, Raymond; four sons: Michael (Sheri) of Bonney Lake WA; Dr.

MARK THOMAS LEINO, 34 of Deerwood, died Sunday, July 10, 2022 in St. Cloud. Mark was born in Minneapolis on March 18, 1988 to Tom and Brenda Leino.  He graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 2006.  He was currently attending St. Cloud State University.  Recently he was employed at Costco in St. Cloud and previously with Graphic Packaging in Crosby.  Mark enjoyed the people he worked with. Mark loved his daughter Alice and the time he spent with her going to the playground and riding on the many scooters he bought for her.

RICHARD 'DICK' NYBERG, 71, of St. Paul, died Friday, June 17, 2022, at United Hospital in St. Paul, of multiple organ failure and cancer. A native of Crosby, he pursued a successful career in mechanical engineering while enjoying his love of skiing, hiking, biking, photography, cooking, bread baking, jazz, fast cars, literature and nature. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Avis Nyberg. He is survived by his wife, Joan, and son, Peter, St. Paul; and sister, Carol Carver, White Bear Lake.

AGNES VIRGINIA (OLSON) LaBORDE, 89, Crosby, died July 6, 2022 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born May 8, 1933 to Joseph and Emma (Seguin) Olson. She married Burton “Spike” LaBorde on May 17, 1952. She loved canning, gardening, knitting, puzzles, bingo, casino trips, listening to the Twins and Vikings and country music (loud), watching her grandchildren  and spending time with her family.

ERICK 'TED' NORLIN, 84, of Crosby, was called home by our Lord on July 3, 2022. Ted was born in Crosby to John and Bertha (Lathrop) Norlin on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1938. He grew up in Crosby and attended Crosby High School. Ted and Mary (Bendel) were united in marriage on May 23, 1964 and together they had two sons, John and Jeff. In 1971, the family moved to Madison from Minneapolis where Ted took a position with the Dawson Soybean Processing Plant. Ted was always a people person and joined a number of community organizations in Madison.

SHIRLEY ANN (BONNEVILLE) YUNKER, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully July 1, 2022, at the amazing age of 95 after sharing a laugh with her caregivers. Born July 31, 1926, Shirley mastered double entry bookkeeping in her first job at the First National Bank of Aitkin and, after marriage to Clifford Yunker in 1950 when they danced the Tennessee Waltz, partnered with her husband to raise their family in various cities his sales career took them until returning to Aitkin to own and run a neighborhood grocery.

EFFIE MAE HOFMANN, 100, passed away peacefully June 28, 2022 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. She was born Feb 27, 1922 in McGregor,  to William and Margaret Kant.  The family moved to Crosby where Effie attended school, graduating from Crosby-Ironton High School. After High School she worked at the Crosby Red Owl and began dating her future husband Dennis Hofmann. They married July 17, 1943. She had met the man of her dreams, but WWII interrupted their plans when Denny went to Europe with the Army.

Jeremie Daniel Johnson Obit

JEREMIE DANIEL JOHNSON, 32, of St. Paul,  died at his home on June 28, 2022.  He was born in Brainerd on Nov. 26, 1989.  Jeremie attended school in Pequot Lakes and graduated from the Northland Remer High School, class of 2009.   Preceding Jeremie in death is his grandfather, Gerald Johnson.

CARLA JEAN LUECK, 67, of Crosby, died in Apache Junction, AZ on June 1, 2022. She was born Aug. 27, 1954 in Seattle, WA to Carl and Beverly “Ramey” Monson. She married Robert Lucek on Feb. 25, 2000 in Crosby. She worked at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center for 25 years and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crosby. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lucek, parents and daughter Jennifer Vang. She is survived by her son, Calib Cousineau of Crosby, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Bernie Monson of Wisconsin and 11 grandchildren.
