MELISA MARIE HARDESTY, 47 of Havre, MT, formerly of Crosby, died on April 6, 2021 at the Benefis Health System in Great Falls, MT.  She was born on Sept. 27, 1973 in Coon Rapids.  Melisa was a Crosby-Ironton High graduate and received an LPN degree from Central Lake College in Brainerd.   She was a former nurse at the Brainerd State Hospital, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby and Almost Home Assisted Living in Brainerd.

ALLEN B. DOBSON, 63, of Mason City, IA, formerly of Bagley and Crosby,  passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Heritage Care Center, Mason City.
Al was born on Aug.15, 1957, the son of LaVerne and Joyce (Johnson) Dobson of Bagley. He graduated from Bagley High School, class of 1975. Al worked for Anderson Brothers Asphalt Company in Brainerd for 16 years.  He was a self-employed floor finisher in northern Minnesota until his health declined.  
On Aug. 2, 2008, Allen married Barbara Nelson in Crosby.

HELEN ETZLER, 97, of Crosby, died on March 6, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on Aug. 15, 1923 in Bay Lake Township to Frank and Katherine (Looman) Etzler.  Helen was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby.
Preceding Helen in death are her parents; four brothers, Bob, Ben, Jim and Clarence Etzler and five sisters, Gertrude Darling, Cecilia Seavey, Eleanor Bath, Melva Sarrie and Alice Johnson.

ALBERT W. TIBBETTS, 83, of Aitkin, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was born Aug. 12, 1937 in Deerwood to George and Josephine (Seavey) Tibbetts.  He graduated from Aitkin High School in 1955.  He served in the National Guard from 1953 to 1955. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. serving from 1955  until being honorably discharged in 1958.  Albert was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Utecht on May 26, 1962 in St. Nicholas.

MICHAEL JOSEPH WALSH, 70, of Farm Island Township, died at his home surrounded by his family on March 17, 2021.  He was born in Minneapolis on June 24, 1950 to Joseph and Leona (Stoltz) Walsh.  He married Judith Schlichting on Nov. 27, 1993 in Deerwood. He attended the American College and obtained a ChFC, CLU and PFA and numerous other degrees. He retired as an Advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Aitkin, a member of St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin and a past member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Deerwood.  He loved his family, golfing, fishing and travel.

BETTY ARLENE DOMIN, age 87, of Brainerd and formerly of Crosby passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Edgewood Vista Home in Brainerd. Betty was born in Pine River to Theodore and Lila (Schmidt) LaVoie on March 23, 1933. She married Frank Domin and they lived in Crosby.
Betty is survived by her sisters, Theora Dunemann, Shirley Selisker, Beverly (Gary) Roach, and Patt (Jim) DeZurik; brother, Ted (Butch) LaVoie; many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Wanda Ferdelman Obit

WANDA FERDELMAN, age 57 of Irondale Township died on March 16, 2021 at her home.  
She was born on August 12, 1963 in Crosby to Thomas Bernard and Darlene (Dingman) Burgstaler.  
She was a cook and baker at local restaurants.  She had a love for riding motorcycles, fishing and caring for her two dogs.  She was a very giving and caring person, and loved to call in birthdays to the Power Loon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Scott.
