Deborah Jane Johnson Obit

Deborah Jane Johnson, 69, of Crosby, died peacefully on June 3, 2021 at her home.  She was born on Jan. 9, 1952 in Brainerd to Richard and Vietta (Rider) Rude.  She married William D. Johnson on Feb. 14, 1971 in Crosby.  She attended school in Crosby and Brainerd. Deborah came from a large family and was the oldest of six, she was known for being funny, patient and a great listener. Deb loved being a grandmother, gave amazing hugs, was a pushover at bedtime and gave solid life advice. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Interment will be held Wednesday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily followed by a memorial service at Emily United Methodist Church.

PATRICA ANN MINARICH, 90, of Crosby, died on May 29, 2021 at Aitkin Health Service.  She was born on Nov. 4, 1930 in Texarkana, TX to Floyd and Elizabeth (Novotny) Enemark.  Pat was a long-time employee of the Ben Franklin Varity Store and the SuperValu Store in Crosby. Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Walter; daughter, Debra Branden; sister, Betty Rider and two brothers, Floyd and Jim Enemark. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael  and Kathy Minarich of Crosby; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Jack Clemens of North St.

Charlotte Anne Martinson Obit

CHARLOTTE ANNE MARTINSON was born on Oct. 2, 1928, to Peter and Johanna Martinson in Trommald, MN. She was raised on the Martinson family farm in rural Aitkin, on Nord Lake. Charlotte graduated from Brainerd High School in 1946. On Aug. 9, 1947, Charlotte was united in marriage to Glenn H. Speed at the Assembly of God Church in Brainerd. The Lord blessed their union with four children: Brad, Tom, Steve, and Michelle. They made their home in Brainerd until 1953, when they moved to Wadena. Glenn and Charlotte owned and operated Time Jewelry from 1953-1987.

Clifford "Cliff" Norman Orcutt Obit

CLIFFORD "CLIFF" NORMAN ORCUTT, 83, of Crosby, died June 4, 2021 from a short battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.  Cliff was born Aug. 6, 1937 in Brainerd to Leo Russell and Marjorie Ada (Ridlon) Orcutt. He married his teenage sweetheart, Laura Jane Lamphere on Nov., 10, 1956 in Crosby. They were blessed with five children, 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. One of Cliff’s first jobs as a young boy was as a supply runner for the miners at Hanna Coal and Ore in Crosby.

Steven Paul Brandt Obit

STEVEN PAUL BRANDT, 65, of Brainerd, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children at Regions’ Hospital in St. Paul on Sunday, May 23, 2021, after a four-year battle with Renal Cancer (Also Known as Firefighters Cancer). Steve was born in Onamia on Dec. 24, 1955, to Maurice and Ardean (Hanson) Brandt. He graduatesdfrom Onamia High and Brainerd Junior College and worked for Brainerd Ambulance and North Ambulance Brainerd for 21 years. Steve joined the Fire Department, where he worked for over 15 years.

Isabelle L. Erickson Obit

ISABELLE L. ERICKSON, 94, of Crosby, died on May 23, 2021 at the Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.  She was born on April 20, 1927 in Judson, ND to Emil and Erue (Wing) Zuelich.  Isabelle married Raymond Erickson on March 3, 1946 in Brainerd.  She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Crosby; R.S.V.P. in Crosby; and a volunteer at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, making over 3,000 hats for newborns. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Raymond; one son, Roger Erickson; and two sisters, Shirley Ellstrom and Laura Wing.

MARK A. RINGHAND, 59, of Deerwood, died on May 22, 2021 at his home.  He was born on June 25, 1961 in Crosby to Byron and Joan (Rehberger) Ringhand.  He graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1979. He was a retired technician with Marco Technologies. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his kids. He is preceded in death by  his father, Byron Ringhand.

Vonnie Lee Tatro Obit

VONNIE LEE TATRO, aka “Spud”, 83, of Ironton, died May 1, 2021. He was born May 9, 1937 in Immogene to Harry Tatro and Amy (Adams) Tatro. He was famously known as the MN Hitchhiker as he traveled many places for many years. He loved the Colorado mountains as he would rebuild abandoned buildings and make cabins for anyone to use. Empire Hilton was his favorite as he felt God there. He joined the Army National Guard in 1955 and transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1956, completing a four-year term with an honorable ranking as an E3 Aircraft Mechanic.
