NORMA JEAN (JOHNSON) RAVIS went to be with Jesus at age 78 on Dec. 7, 2019 in Minneapolis.
Norma was born on March 10, 1941 in Calhoun County, IA. She grew up on a farm in rural Iowa and attended schools in Gowrie, IA; after graduating from high school she attended business school in  Des Moines, IA and then worked for the District Office of Safeway Foods in Fort Dodge, IA.

BARTON W. JOHNSTON, 71, of Deerwood, died on Dec. 4, 2019 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  He was born on Sept. 30, 1948 in Laurelville, OH.  Bart married Penrose Middleton on July 9, 1971 in Escanaba, MI.

GLORIA G. PERPICH, 89, of Crosby, formerly of Ironton, died on Dec. 4, 2019 at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.  She was born on Oct. 29, 1930 to Joseph and Veronica (DeCent) Sabyan.
She graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1947.  Gloria married Myron G. Perpich on Oct. 31, 1959.  Her employment included Smith’s Variety and Skogmos in Crosby, Goldfines and Mid-Way Homes in Grand Rapids.  In 1982 she moved back to Ironton and was employed at D.J.’s Dress Shop in Crosby and the clerk’s office at the City of Ironton.

JOHN RAY WAFFENSMITH, 87, of Bay Lake Township died on Nov. 30, 2019 at Golden Horizons in Aitkin.  He was born on Oct. 11, 1932 in Brainerd to Ralph and Ida (Swing) Waffensmith. John graduated from the Agriculture School in Grand Rapids. He farmed in the Bay Lake area with turkey and beef operation for many years. He married Delores Ferrari on Sept. 13, 1952.  John was co-owner and operator of the Crosby Bar, Snow Hut Marina and Snowmobile dealership, earning the honor of having the largest Scorpion Dealership in the world.

EUGENE 'GENE' MERWIN STOLTZMAN, 79, of Brainerd, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at the Bethany Samaritan Home in Brainerd with his loving family by his side.  He was born on Feb. 4, 1940 in Hugo, the son of Clyde, Sr. and Irene (Root) Stoltzman.

JERALD EARL GLAUVITZ, 62, of Big Lake, died on Nov. 26, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.  He was born on Jan. 29, 1957 in Robbinsdale to Lawrence Bergliot (Togstad) Glauvitz.  He graduated from the Osseo High School.  He was self-employed in construction and was owner of Tomahawk Construction.  Prior to having Tomahawk Construction he worked with his sons with Triple J Construction.
He loved socializing with people in the community and spent a lot time talking to everyone.  He will be remembered for being a very proud grandfather.

BEVERLY JANET NORGARD, 80, of Brainerd, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Bethany – Good Samaritan Society. Beverly was born in Paynesville on June 6, 1939 to Evald & Bertha (Olson) Nelson.
Beverly enjoyed cooking and knitting projects for her family. She would make her famous apple turnovers for the deer hunting group. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

DOROTHY ANN RONO, 86, of Crosby, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday Nov. 20, 2019.
Dorothy was born in Crosby on Dec. 22, 1932 to Frank and Barbara (Herriot) Goette. She graduated from Crosby High School, and married Ole (Gene) Rono on Oct. 31, 1951. Dorothy worked as a seamstress, waitress, and line worker, but her role as a wife and mother was the most important thing in her life. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, and solving crossword puzzles.

DONNA HOLMGREN, 87, of Emily, died on Nov. 22, 2019,  while in hospice care in St. Cloud. She was born to Frank and Lillian Carlson on June 30, 1932, in Minneapolis. When she was in primary school, she was adopted by John Norlund when her mother remarried. She attended high school and Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, where she met Gordon, her husband of 67 years.

JOHN O. LARSON, 72 of Crosby died at Fairview Hospital in Princeton on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.  He was born on June 20, 1947 in Mobridge, SD to Carl Arthur and Frieda (Nies) Larson.
John married Charlotte Endrizzi on March 15, 1969 in Emily.
John’s family moved to Emily in 1963 where he graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School and from Staples Technical College as a machinist.  He worked for BNSF for 40 years, spent 20 years on the Ironton Fire Department, as well a passionate rancher and cowboy his whole life.
