BETTY ARLENE DOMIN, 87, of Brainerd and formerly of Crosby passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Edgewood Vista Home in Brainerd. Betty was born in Pine River to Theodore and Lila (Schmidt) LaVoie on March 23, 1933. She married Frank Domin and they lived in Crosby. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby.

RICHARD EUGENE BANDY,  66, of Crosby, died at his home on Sept. 18, 2021.  He was born on Feb. 22, 1955 in Huron, SD to Claude and Opal (Palmer) Bandy.  He was a member of the Gawker Slowdown Band. Preceding him in death are his parents. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; two sons and daughter-in-law, Aric Bandy of Shoreview and Ryan and Heidi Bandy of Duluth; one daughter, Ashley Bandy of Minneapolis; one brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Marilyn Bandy of Plano, TX; two sisters, Cheryl Ficocello of Coon Rapids and Laurel Bandy of Shreveport, LA; and 10 grandchildren.

Patricia "Patt" Joan (Sipper) Johnson Obit

PATRICIA "PATT" JOAN (SIPPER) JOHNSON, 91, passed away on Sept. 18, 2021.  Patt was the fifth of 14 children of Steve and Lillian Sipper of Crosby.  Patt lived in Minnesota, but also resided in Colorado and Arizona for much of her life.  She was married to Leonard Johnson for over 62 years and was a mother of five, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of five.  Patt was family oriented, loved to watch tennis and hockey, play cards and games of all kinds and could always be spotted at the card table at social gatherings.

LORRAINE "LORRI" I. MILLAM, 80, of Brainerd, died on Sept. 17, 2021 at the Lakewood Heath System in Staples.  She was born on Nov. 30, 1940 in White Earth Township to Charles and Rosella (Norely) Durant.  She graduated from the Bagley High School, class of 1958. She was a contract postal carrier in the Crosby-Ironton area, was a local representative for Tupperware® and served as a local first responder for many years. She was owner and secretary for M&L Trucking in Brainerd. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Baxter.

James John Dotzler Obit

JAMES JOHN DOTZLER, 92, of Irondale Township died on Sept. 14, 2021 at his home. Born on April 30, 1929 in Aitkin to George and Mary (Liesen) Dotzler, he was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran with service in the 369th Combat Engineers. He married Sheila Hammond in Aitkin on April 18, 1953. He retired from Hanna Mining with 34 years of service. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Sheila; two sons, Roger and infant David Anthony Dotzler; one daughter, Lois Pratt; one brother, Frank Dotzler and one sister, Phyllis Daniel.

RONNIE EUGENE BUCHITE, 70, of Jay, OK, died on Sept. 13, 2021, at home after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 28, 1950, in Crosby, the youngest of ten children born to Hugh and Lillian (Chenevert) Buchite. He was raised and attended schools in Fifty Lakes and Pine River. On April 8, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ena Wales. He was a cattle farmer and butcher throughout his life. He owned and operated Southwest City Meat Processing for several years. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Hugh, Alfred, Morrie and Wink.

BERNARD L. CHAPMAN, 100 of Crosby, died on Sept. 19, 2021 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby.  He was born on Sept. 25, 1920 in Marathon, IA to Ed and Pearl (Franksain) Chapman.  He married Roberta Baker on June 20, 1948 in Des Moines, IA.  He was a WWII Coast Guard veteran with assignment to the U.S. Navy serving in the North Atlantic. He was a retired actuary with Preferred Risk Life Insurance Co., and was a former owner of Roger Lake Resort in Emily.  After retirement they moved to their home at Roger Lake, in 2016 they moved to Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby.

GENE L. FRANCIS, 65, of Brainerd, died on July 17, 2021 after a seven-year battle with cancer.   A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the Brainerd American Legion #255 from 1 to 3  p.m. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

THOMAS JAMES WILHARM, 86, of Minnetonka, passed away on Sept. 6, 2021.   He was born in Minneapolis, graduated from Washburn High School and served two years in the U.S.M.C.    He was a salesman and a small business owner in Crosby and the Lake Minnetonka area.  He spent his retirement on Rabbit Lake. He is preceded in death by parents, George and Gladys Wilharm, and brother, Charles.
