A Celebration of Life for Gary Geyer will be held at Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake on Sunday, May 16 beginning at 2 p.m. There will be a potluck lunch at the food shack. Bring your own lawn chairs, beverages, a dish to share and memories.

SCOTT D. SCHACHTE, 60, of Superior,  WI died Tuesday April 21, 2020 after a courageous battle with Corticobasal Degeneration at Twin Ports Health and Rehab Center. A private family service will be held on Saturday,  May 15, 2021 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Superior, WI. The service will begin at 11 a.m. and can be live streamed on Our Saviors’ Facebook page or at www.superioroslc.com. Downs Funeral Home, 1617 North 19th Street, Superior, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

ROSELLA "ROSE" GEORGETTE LINDAHL, 79, of Aitkin, passed away Monday, April 19, 2021 at Aicota Health Care Center, Aitkin.  She was born Jan. 23, 1942 in Corson County, SD to Richard and Christina (Kern) Schily.  She was united in marriage to Alvin Nies on Nov. 13, 1960 in Isabel, SD.  She was later united in marriage to Gerald Lindahl on May 9, 1997 in Emily.   She worked at Land O’Lakes Turkey Plant in Aitkin and later was a Nurses Aide at Aicota Health Care Center.

On May 2, 2021, Darlene Borgaro, loving grandmother, mother, and wife, passed away at the age of 83. Darlene was born Aug. 31, 1937 in Hurley, WI. She married Donald Borgaro in 1956 and together they raised three children, Brenda, Gary, and Carolyn. They moved to Duluth in 1967, where she began her cosmetic business in the basement of their home. She later opened several retail, cosmetic, hair and beauty salons as her entrepreneurial spirit grew and enjoyed over 50 years in business. She and Don snowbirded in Sun City Center, FL and Deerwood.

JOYCE ANGELINE FISHER, 92, of Arden Hills, formerly of Crosby, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Johanna Shores Care Center in Arden Hills on April 28, 2021.  She was born in Milwaukee, WI on June 22, 1928 to John T. and Alpha Levina (Torgrud) Johnson. She loved cleaning and spent many years cleaning at the First National Banks of Crosby and Deerwood. She was a long-time member of the Assembly of God Church in Crosby. Preceding Joyce in death are husband Al; son Jack; brother Merle; and sister Gail.

JEFFREY MICHAEL SMITH, 65, of St. Cloud, formerly of Crosby, died on Feb. 19, 2021 at St. Benedict’s Senior Living in St. Cloud.  He was born on Dec. 7, 1955 in Duluth to Erling and Delores (Landowski) Smith. He was a former employee of the City of Crosby and Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd.  He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby. Preceding him in death are his parents. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Al and Kathy Smith of Crystal; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorethea “Dolly’ and Steve Kenworthy of Duluth and several nieces and nephews.

RICHARD "DICK" R. GANSEVELD, 82, of Inver Grove Heights, formerly of Deerwood, died on April 29, 2021 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on April 30, 1938 in Madison Township. Dick was a retired police officer, serving 33 years with the Minneapolis Police Department and 22 years with the Crosby Police Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and a dedicated family man.
