HAROLD "PANCHO" PETER ZEITLER, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2025 in Crosby, N, after a strong 3-year fight against cancer.  His loving wife of 53 years, Connie, was at his side. He was born in Oconto Falls, WI, to Isabel June Ankerson and George Joseph Zeitler, and grew up on a dairy farm near Green Bay. He graduated from Gillett High School in 1964. After attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville for two years, he enlisted in the Navy Submarine Service and served in the Atlantic for four years on a Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) submarine, the USS Henry L.

CALEB JOSEPH PRUSHEK, 6, of Wadena,  passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Caleb Joseph Prushek was born on July 30, 2019, in Staples, the youngest son of Cameron and Destiny (Shivers) Prushek. Caleb loved to learn and go to preschool, making a huge impression on his teachers at the Wadena-Deer Creek Elementary School. Even on days when he wasn’t feeling well or had doctors’ appointments, he was always asking to go to school instead.

ARLIS L. STANICH, 98, passed away on Aug. 22, 2025 at Rushseba Senior Living in Rush City. She was born on March 14, 1927 in Little Falls to Herbert Fawkes and Mahala Richmond. She married Donald R. Stanich in October of 1948. She was a Librarian in Ironton for 35 years and a member of the Crosby Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald and one son, Herbert Stanich.

Charles W. "Bill" Miller Obit

CHARLES W. "BILL" MILLER, 93, of Deerwood, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Seattle, WA.  He was born in Crosby, on Nov. 13, 1931, to Albert A. and Frances  Miller. He graduated from the Crosby-Ironton High School, class of 1950.  Bill was united in marriage with Angeline “Angie” Chopp on July 25, 1953 in Crosby. He grew up in Bay Lake where his parents operated Miller’s Garage and Miller’s Cabins, a small summer resort.  He was the fourth generation of Miller’s to live in the Bay Lake area.

JACKQUELYNN ANN EBERLY, 21, of Crosby, better known to those who loved her as Jackie, Peanut, Jack or Jackson passed away in her sleep Aug. 8, 2025. She was born April 21, 2004 in Brainerd. She grew up in Crosby surrounded by the love of her parents, Amy Ross and Tony and Sarah Eisenmenger. She attended school in Crosby-Ironton where she made many, many friends with her infectious smile and joyous personality. She loved participating in Special Olympics specifically track and field, bowling and basketball where she helped her team go to State.

PHYLLIS (CARLSON) AKINS passed away peacefully and quietly in Mesa, AZ, on Feb. 21, 2025. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Lakewood Cemetery located at 21235 Wood Avenue, Ironton. Family and friends will be gathering at the Taconite Canteen in Ironton following the memorial to share memories and enjoy lunch.

MICHAEL JOHN FERRARI, 59, of Emily, passed away on July 22, 2025 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.   He was born on June 8, 1966 in Crosby to Raymond and Karen (Martinson) Ferrari.   Preceding him in death is his father, Ray Ferrari. He is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Allison Seely; his son, Connor Ferrari of Emily; his mother, Karen Ferrari of Crosby; three brothers, Mark (Shanon) Ferrari of Cuyuna, Tony (Diane) Ferrari of Lincoln, CA and Ted (Jennifer) Ferrari of Baxter; and one sister, Amanda (Tim) Jensen of Pillager and nieces and nephews.

EDWARD NICHOLAS YUNKER, 86, born on Feb.13, 1939, to Melvin and Ann in Crosby, passed away with his with wife Yvonne of 23 years by his side on Aug. 1, 2025, at their home in Baxter. He attended school in Crosby and graduated with the class of 1957. Immediately after graduation he joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served as a radio man. He married Gayle Anderson in June of 1962 and together they had three children: Brian, Amy, and Melissa. He was employed by Potlatch for many years and retired in 1998.

PATRICK JOHN RAVERTY, 41, passed away peacefully at home in Trommald, MN on July 25, 2025. Patrick was born on Nov. 11, 1983, in Brainerd, MN to Greg and Ginny Raverty. From the very beginning, he brought mischief and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew him. At the age of 16, Patrick was diagnosed with brain cancer on Dec. 21, 1999. Over the course of the next 26 years, he endured more than 30 brain surgeries.
