SHEREL SUE LONDO, 72, passed away suddenly early morning on June 8, 2025, near her home in Deerwood. Sherel was born in Minneapolis on March 25, 1953, daughter of Emil Wahlstrom and Beatrice (Pearson) Wahlstrom. She united in marriage with Gary Londo, Sr. on July 16, 1983. Sherel moved out of the twin cities in the late ‘90s seeking refuge in small-town living and worked in Aitkin for years. Sherel lived in Deerwood for the past 12 years; she enjoyed living there, being in nature and playing bingo at Grand Casino Mille Lacs.

MARY GAVIGLIO, 75, of Crosby, passed away on June 8, 2025 at the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20 and Funeral on Saturday June 21. Full obit will follow.   Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby.

VIOLET AGNES KUSCHEL was born on April 5, 1925 and passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 at the remarkable age of 100. She was born to John and Olga Nordin in Brainerd, MN. Her siblings included: Glen, Verna, Vivian, Marvin, Irene, Kenny who are all deceased and one living sister Harriet (her husband George). Violet graduated from Brainerd High School, now Washington Administrative Offices in 1943 and married her sweetheart, Richard Kuschel, upon his return from WWII in September 1946. They shared 65 loving years together until Dick’s passing in May 2011.

Brother of Crosby resident Becky Guida, Gerard Howard Spaeth, affectionately known as "Rardy," passed away peacefully at his home in Ada, on May 30, 2025, at the age of 74. A Celebration of Life Service will be held  Monday, June 23, at 3 p.m. at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home in Ada. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

CAHRLES RALPH HOOVER, 85, of Outing, passed away on May 26, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1940 in Minneapolis to William and Lillian (Fuhs) Hoover. He was a retired member of the Teamsters Union Local 120 in the Twin Cities; a long-time Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 120, S. Minneapolis; a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge 19, Minneapolis; Lakers Lions Club; Tri County Sheriff Association and county board of aging groups.

KRISTINE "KRIS" M. ROSENBAUM, passed away on Feb. 8, 2025 at Sky Ridge Medical Center, Lone Tree, CO. She was born on Aug. 18, 1960, in Crosby to John and Delores (Tenneson) Okerlund. She graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School Class of 1979. She furthered her education through banking and finance where she built her career in Colorado. She is survived by her husband Craig Rosenbaum; her daughter Anne Rosenbaum and one sister Renae (Mark Cole) Okerlund, all of Colorado. Preceding her in death are her parents. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m.

It is with absolute heartbreak that we share the unexpected passing of Anthony Marc Tuhacek, April 14, 1971—May 11, 2025. Born in Grand Rapids, MI, resided near Houston, TX, and recently relocated to Deerwood, MN, in October 2024. Anthony attended the University of Michigan and majored in greenscaping. He was an Air Force combat veteran during the Gulf War in Kuwait. After his military service, Anthony worked as a motorcycle mechanic for Harley-Davidson. His love of music played an indispensable part in his life. He often reminisced about following the "Grateful Dead" in the 90’s.

Alvin "Al" Doonan Obit

ALVIN DOONAN, 85, of Deerwood, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. He was born May 3, 1940 in Willow River to Basil and Lillian (Randall) Doonan, graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School class of 1958 and joined the Navy serving his country for four years. After his military service, he came home to Minnesota and eventually returned to his hometown. He married his wife Jan and they spent 41 years enjoying motorcycle rides, car shows, swap meets, auctions and traveling.
