LINDA MAY HENTON PEEPLES, 73, of Deerwood, passed away on May 9, 2025, at the CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital. She was born April 24, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Robert Eugene and Ruth Henton. She was married to Douglas Clifton Peeples on Dec. 22, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. Linda was a resident of Crosby and Deerwood since 2007, she owned and operated Gifts Galore in Crosby for 17 years. She was also editor of the Crosby-Ironton Courier, and was controller of several major grocery store chains in Arizona and Texas. She taught accounting at a junior college in Phoenix, AZ.

DIANNE JACKSON, 81, formerly of Brainerd, passed away to be with Jesus on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Grand Arbor Assisted Living in Alexandria. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Baxter with visitation one hour before at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Brenny Funeral Home Friday, June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at South Long Lake Hillside Cemetery, south of Brainerd. Lunch will follow the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

DAN SEAVEY, 87, died May 8, 2025 in Alaska. He was born at home on Aug. 19, 1937, in Deerwood Village, Minnesota, to Martin Blake Seavey and Celia (Etzler) Seavey. He attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse in Deerwood, and high school at Crosby-Ironton, in Crosby, where he excelled at wrestling, and participated in general shenanigans with his older brother Joe. He met Shirley Anderson at a county fair, in 1956, where he was working as a carnival wrestler. They dated for two years, and because he was still underage, had to get a permission slip from his parents to marry her.

LAWRENCE 'SCOTTY' H. McKENZIE, 90, of Crosby, passed away on May 21, 2025, at his home. He was born in Onamia on March 21, 1935, to William and Audrey (Duncan) McKenzie.   He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1958 with 15 months in Uijeongbu, Korea. He married the love of his life, Patty Raynor, on Nov. 18, 1972, in Anoka. He was a former North St. Paul Police officer.  He retired from his career as an independent insurance agent and agriculture confinement building and ventilation equipment salesman.

ROBYN KELLY GRIES, 63, of Crosby passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2025. She was born on Oct. 6, 1961 in Mora.  Robyn was united in marriage to Marty Bjerkness on May 26, 2014, in Ironton. Robyn was a loving mother, staying at home with her two kids. Later in life, she went back to school to obtain her nursing degree, most recently working as an RN at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center. She loved a good book, court TV, baking, chocolates, on-line shopping, and kitchen gadgets. Most of all, she loved Jesus. She was a good listener, fearless, strong, and loved helping others.

BONNIE JO MORISON, 83, of Princeton, formerly of Irondale Township, died on April 11, 2025. She was born in Brainerd on April 23, 1941, to Ronald and Mildred (Lehrke) Lord.  Bonnie was united in marriage to Nolan Delano Morison on April 8, 1961, in Ironton.   After high school, she studied key punching in Minneapolis.  Early in her career, she worked at Univac and Pioneer United Telephone Company.  She retired in 2005 from the Crow Wing County Solid Waste Division where she worked for over 20 years. She was an inaugural member of the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church.

Jeff Lousteau, MD Obit

JEFF LOUSTEAU, MD, died on March 30, 2025, at home with family by his side. He was an only child born to Paul and Naomi Lyons Lousteau in New Orleans. LA, on July 11, 1943. Attending Jesuit High School and Loyola University he was very proud of his Jesuit education. After graduation from LSU Medical School, he dabbled in several specialties finding his niche in anesthesia. He was a loving husband and father. Funny and brilliant, he described himself as a "Nerd." He embraced computer technology early on and became quite computer savvy. He served as a Major in the Alabama National Guard.
