Small Business Saturday at Cuyuna Range Businesses

Small Business Saturday® is designated the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year that day is Saturday,  Nov. 30.
Created  to encourage people to Shop Small and bring more holiday shopping to small businesses across the United States, in 2011, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution in support of the day, and officials in all 50 states participate.
You might not realize it, but every time you take a yoga class or buy a gift from the local store down the street, you're shopping small and making a difference.

Help decorate Crosby Community Christmas Tree

Join the Crosby Economic Development Committee to decorate the Community Christmas tree on Friday, Nov. 30 from 4 to 5 p.m. Tree lighting will be at 5 p.m.
All business owners and residents are invited to make or donate an ornament for the tree. Members of the community are invited to help decorate the tree.
The tree was provided by Peterson Christmas Trees of Crosby and donated to the city by Gifts Galore, 20 Third Avenus SW in Crosby.

 

Crosby to purchase ladder truck

The Crosby City Council voted to purchase a used ladder truck at its meeting on Monday, Nov. 25. The city of Brainerd will have a ladder truck available next spring for $165,000. The council suggested to the fire department the city pay one-third of the cost, the Fire Relief Association pay one-third and one-third be obtained from donations. The fire department representative said the department plans to sell a tanker and two older fire engines to make room in the garage for the new ladder truck.

Mitten Tree Collection at MMFCU

Help keep the community warm this winter by donating new adult and child-sized hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, etc.
Donations may be hung on the Mitten Tree at Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union on Main Street in Crosby. All donations will be given to Salem WEST and then distributed to those in need in the community.
Donations will be collected during the month of November. 

Tree of Love Lighting Ceremony Dec. 2

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Home Health & Hospice department is now accepting memorial and honor gifts for the 35th annual Tree of Love fund-raising event for Hospice. The official tree lighting and dedication of the Hospice tree is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, at Heartwood Senior Living Community in Crosby. 

SEIU members ratify new labor contract with CRMC

The threat of a strike has been withdrawn after Cuyuna Regional Medical Center and its workers represented by SEIU Healthcare Minnesota reached agreement late Wednesday on a three-year contract covering approximately 550 employees at the hospital, nursing home, assisted living center and the ambulance crew.

Trick-or-Treat at the Care Center in Crosby

All tiny goblins, super heroes and ghouls are invited to trick or treat along the spooktacular hallways of the Care Center at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby from 6 to 7 p.m. on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31.

Tenants of Ironton Terrace Apartments will be entertained by ghouls, ghosts and goblins on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Spooking will begin at 5 p.m. in the west end Community Room.

Trick-or-Treat at Crosby Fire Hall on Thursday

All area youth are invited to the Crosby Fire Hall located at First Street and First Avenue NW in Crosby on Thursday, Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Fire Department and Auxiliary are offering free hot chocolate and cookies for the little goblins.
