Veterans honored for a week at Ironton Legion

All area veterans will be honored the week of Nov. 11 through Nov. 16 at the Ironton Legion. Please provide your credentials for all specials. Specials include:
—Monday, Nov. 11: Free breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon for all veterans.  
—Tuesday, Nov. 12: $1 off any drink from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for veterans.
—Wednesday, Nov. 13: Half-price meal for veterans from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
—Thursday, Nov. 14: Veterans enjoy a free appetizer with purchase of a drink or food item from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Veteran's Day Dinner Nov. 11 at Crosby Bar and Grill

The Crosby Bar and Grill and the Crosby Fire Department will host their fifth annual Veterans’ Day Dinner on Monday, Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m.
The meal will include a hot beef dinner, with roast beef on a slice of bread, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable and coffee, water or fountain pop (while supplies last).
Veterans, please bring credentials to receive the free meal.
The Crosby Fire Department will be assisting with the meal orders.
The meal is provided to veterans in appreciation for their service.

Senior Dining Menu for Oct. 28-31

Lutheran Social Service is providing Senior Nutrition in the Crosby-Ironton area. Meals are served at Dellwood Apartments and are open to anyone age 60 or better for a suggested donation of $4 per meal. Donations for the meal can be made at meal time or monthly statements listing the number meals received can be prepared. All donations are confidential
A meal needs to be ordered the day before they plan to have a meal. Meals on Wheels in Crosby, Ironton and Deerwood is also available. For reservations call 546-5943 (leave a message if no one is available to take your call).

UCare is offering Medicare Advantage plans in Minnesota. Stop by the Hallett Center of Crosby on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. for more informations. Reservations are being accepted at ucare.org/rsvp crosby.
In Baxter, UCare reprsentatives will be available on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Clinic, 13060 Isle Drive. Visit ucare.org/rsvp-baxter-stjoes for reservations.
In Brainerd, UCare is offering three dates for enrollment:
—Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.

The Bay Lake Area Lions and local crafters invite the public to show their support for Childhood Cancer Awareness on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Deerwood Auditorium for the Minnesota Wild Rice Hot Dish Church Cook-Off and Craft Sale.
Members from area churches and communities have been asked to submit their best recipe and a pan of Minnesota Wild Rice Hot Dish. Judging will take place at 10:30 a.m. and the winner will receive a gift basket of area products.

Deerwood Fire Department's Turkey Bingo Nov. 25

The Deerwood Fire Department will host Turkey Bingo on Monday, Nov. 25. at 7 p.m. at the Deerwood Auditorium. This is an annual event is a fun evening for the whole famly with the potential to win many prizes; you must be 18 to participate in the raffle.
Bingo raffle prizes include: a camouflage 12 gauge Beretta A350 3-1/2 inch semi-automatic shotgun, a Louisiana wood pellet grill/smoker and a $500 gift card to Deerwood Furniture. Tickets are a dollar donation; must be 18 to purchase a raffle ticket

Crosby Fire Department's Turkey Bingo Nov. 23

The Crosby Fire Department Auxiliary is hosting Turkey Bingo at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The Auxiliary will be serving hot dogs and chips for $3, and hosting a bake sale and raffle drawing as well as the Turkey Bingo.
Tickets for the Turkey Raffle are $1 and available from a Crosby firefighter or auxiliary member. Prizes include: First prize—$600 cash; second prize—$300 cash; third prize—$100 gift card to Rafferty’s Pizza.
