Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Home Health and Hospice Department will hold a Book Fair fund-raiser for Hospice on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. just inside the hospital’s main lobby entrance.
The event will feature a huge selection of books, collective goods and gifts at 30 to 70 percent off retail prices.
Proceeds from sales will benefit hospice patients in the community.

Healthcare workers employed by Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby have voted to authorize a strike if the bargaining team is unable to reach a tentative agreement with management. The two sides bargained seven times over the last three months, including Monday Oct. 14, and remain divided on key issues. More than 90 percent of SEIU members voted to reject the employer’s proposals and a majority voted to authorize a one-day ULP [Unfair Labor Practices] strike if called by the bargaining committee. There is no strike date set. There must be a 10-day notice before any strike would begin.

The public is invited to boogie the night away while raising money and good vibes to support those facing cancer at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center’s Kaleidoscope Disco Party on Tuesday evening, Oct. 29, at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge where a legendary nightclub will be re-created for one night only.
Beginning at 6 p.m. there will be a silent auction of numerous items donated by area businesses and individuals followed by far out games of chance, rad contests and grooving to the hits of the 70s. Fabulous soul food will be served and a cash bar of groovy cocktails will be available. 

The city of Emily Police Department has a drop box for all your unused medications. Stop by city hall, 39811 State Highway 6 in Emily, any time between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
