Tunnel project on State Highway 6

The tunnel construction on State Highway 6 north of the 4-way stop in Crosby is under way. Traffic is being re-routed through Cuyuna on County Roads 31 and 30 back to State Highway 6 just south of the Mississippi Bridge.

The City of Crosby is leading the proposed installation of a multi-use trail tunnel below Highway 6 in Crosby at the current above grade trail crossing of Hwy 6 near Yawkey Road.  The City has worked with MnDOT, MnDNR, and local trail use stakeholders that includes the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail (CLST) Association, the Cuyuna Sno Serpents Snowmobile Club, the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew, Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area (CCSRA) Advisory Council to provide this below grade crossing to address past safety issues identified at the current crossing.  Installation of this proposed tunnel

Award-winning Bayfield County, WI, author James Brakken will present his tenth book, “Infamous,” at Brainerd’s Sawmill Inn on Tuesday, July 9 at 2 p.m. The program will be repeated on Wednesday, July 10 at 10 a.m. at the Soo Line Depot/Cuyuna Rane Museum in Crosby. These free family events are sponsored in part by the Crow Wing County Historical Society, the Cuyuna Iron Range Heritage Network, the Sawmill Inn, and Badger Valley Publishing.

Plan now for a spectacular Fourth of July in Crosby.
On Thursday, July 4 the two-mile parade starts at 11 a.m. in Ironton along Highway 210 ending at  Second Avenue East. The kiddie parade is on Crosby’s Main Street (from the four-way stop to SuperOne) starts at 11 a.m.
